The games

Seven ways to play on the same little board.

There’s more than one way to get a room full of people thinking, guessing, and occasionally arguing over something wonderfully trivial.

Whirrrdy

A word is waiting on the Display. Its letters begin to settle, one flap at a time.

Guess what it is before everyone else does. The earlier you get it right, the more points you earn.

The host chooses a word pack, difficulty level, and number of rounds.

Doublecross Word

Coming soon to the beta.

A crossword is more interesting when everyone gets a turn holding the pen.

Work through the puzzle together. Choose a clue and enter your answer. The board reveals the letters you’ve got right.

You can ask for a hint, choose another open clue, or pass the pen after entering an answer.

The game ends when every clue is solved.

Pub Trivia

A little knowledge. A little confidence. And the occasional answer you were absolutely certain about.

Read each question on the Display and write your answer on your phone. Tap Hand it in to submit your slip. You can change it until the question closes.

The host can review close or incorrect answers. Your slips stay private, and nobody sees the correct answers or scores while the round is underway.

At the end, Your answers shows your slips alongside the correct answers and your result. Between games, Last game’s answers lets you revisit that private summary.

Speed Trivia

Four answers. One question. Not much time to think.

Read the question on the Display and choose your answer on your phone. One tap locks it in.

The first correct answer ends the question and earns the point. If nobody gets there first, the timer brings the question to an end.

Tap Trivia

All the trivia, none of the stopwatch.

Read the question on the Display, choose from four answers on your phone, and tap That’s my answer.

You can change your choice while everyone else is answering. There’s no timer, so take your time.

Elsewhere

Coming soon to the beta.

A story unfolds on the Display, one line at a time. Where it goes is up to the room.

Take turns exploring. Some discoveries appear on the board for everyone to see. Others arrive quietly on your phone, meant only for you. Whether you share them is entirely your choice.

Along the way, the story will ask you to decide what happens next. Sometimes you’ll talk things over. Sometimes you’ll vote in secret. And sometimes, one person gets to make the call.

Your choices shape the story that follows.

Your phone will always tell you when you can talk freely and when to keep quiet. The quiet only lasts while a secret vote is open.

Exploring alone? Two companions will join you. They have opinions of their own.

If someone has to leave

If someone leaves while holding a private discovery, the host can pass it along to another player.

In the host controls (tap the HOST bar at the top), the host sees the discovery’s name, but not its contents. They can choose someone still playing to receive it.

Clackadoodle

Coming soon to the beta.

One person draws. Everyone else guesses. And 405 little machines do their best to keep up.

Each round, one player becomes the artist. A secret word appears on their phone, along with the same drawing tools you’ll find in Create. As they draw, their picture clacks onto the Display, catching up every second.

Everyone else watches the board and guesses on their phones. You get three guesses per round, but don’t worry about a spelling slip or a near miss. Your phone will tell you when you’re close, without using up a guess.

The fewer guesses you need, the more points you earn: 3 for your first guess, 2 for your second, or 1 for your third. Guess while the artist is still drawing and you’ll both earn a bonus point. The artist also earns a point for each person who guesses correctly.

Once the drawing is finished, everyone gets a little more time to guess. The round ends when everyone has either guessed correctly or used all their guesses. The answer appears on the board beneath the drawing.

Then come the scores. When everyone’s ready, the artist taps Next round to pass the pen to the next player. The host can do this too. Everyone gets the same number of turns as artist.

Timers, or no timers

The host chooses how long the artist can draw and how much time everyone gets to guess afterward. Either timer can be set to No limit.

Without a drawing limit, the artist taps Done drawing when they’re finished. Without a guessing limit, guessing stays open until everyone has guessed or the artist taps Pass the pen to reveal the answer.

The host can also end a round from the host controls. This removes the drawing from the Display immediately.

A little something for next time

ClackSnack remembers which questions, words, and puzzles you’ve already played, even across game nights. Each pack works through its unused material before repeating.

There should always be something left to discover.
